Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Ensures Job Security for 1.20 Lakh Contractual Employees
The Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has made a historic decision to ensure job security for approximately 1.20 lakh contractual employees across the state. This decision was approved during a cabinet meeting in Chandigarh.
Key Highlights of the Ordinance
The Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Tenure) Ordinance, 2024, will apply to employees working under HKRN, including those engaged under outsourcing policy Part-1 and Part-2. The ordinance guarantees job security until the age of superannuation.
Eligibility and Benefits
Contractual employees who complete 5 years of service by August 15, 2024, will be eligible. They will receive a basic salary equivalent to the pay scale of posts, with their consolidated monthly remuneration increased biannually. Additionally, they will receive an annual increment after one year of service, death-cum-retirement gratuity benefits, and maternity benefits.
Under the PM-Jan Arogya Yojana-Chirayu Extension Scheme, families of contractual employees will receive health benefits, except for those earning more than Rs 50,000 per month or working under centrally sponsored schemes.
Additional Pay Increments
Employees with 5 years of service will get 5% more pay than the minimum pay level of the same post, those with 8 years will get 10% more, and those with 10 years will get 15% more.
Guest Teachers
Guest teachers will also receive these benefits, extending facilities and advantages not previously covered by the Guest Teachers Act.
