On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of spreading falsehoods. He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win the upcoming state assembly elections.

Saini stated, “The Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are two sides of the same coin; both lie but this time their lies have been exposed. The BJP government will be formed for the third time in the state.”

He also defended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on the premises of Haryana Congress MLA Rao Dan Singh, saying the ED was performing its duty. The raid was part of an investigation into an alleged Rs 1,392 crore bank loan fraud case.

Regarding water issues, Saini emphasized the need for Sutlej water for irrigation in Haryana.

AAP’s Plans for Haryana Elections

The Aam Aadmi Party announced it will contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections independently. AAP leader Mann stated, “The Aam Aadmi Party has decided that it will contest the Haryana assembly elections with full force. We have governments in Delhi and Punjab; half of Haryana touches Delhi and half of Haryana touches Punjab.”

AAP MP Sanjay Singh highlighted issues like unemployment and farmers’ troubles, promising that Kejriwal will bring change to Haryana.

Haryana is one of eight states holding legislative assembly elections this year. The current coalition government is formed by the BJP and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). The elections are expected by October 2024, as the current Assembly’s tenure ends on November 3, 2024.
