Haryana Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad Plans Clean and Efficient Gurugram

On Sunday, Haryana Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad emphasized the state government’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and efficient drainage systems in Gurugram city. In a meeting with prominent citizens, he directed officials to create new plans based on suggestions received.

New Garbage Collection Standards

Prasad announced the formation of a three-member committee to establish standards for door-to-door garbage collection vehicles. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will issue a public advertisement for agencies, organizations, or individuals to provide vehicles that meet these standards. These vehicles must have GPS for tracking and operate for at least three years, with a goal of having up to one thousand such vehicles in Gurugram. Payments will be made monthly as per committee rates.

Addressing Waterlogging Issues

Prasad also reviewed waterlogging issues during the rainy season. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav reported 112 critical waterlogging points, with senior officials assigned for monitoring. MCG Commissioner Narhari Bangar stated that the GMDA and MCG use four major drains and about 600 kilometers of smaller drains for drainage, with cleaning work underway.

Additional Measures

Prasad directed the purchase of 40 compactors and suction machines for MCG and instructed experts to prepare a plan for improving the Bandhwari waste disposal plant. He assured citizens of weekly meetings to address their concerns.
