Haryana Assembly Elections: High Voter Turnout and Congress Leads in Exit Polls

The single-phase polling for Haryana’s 90 Assembly Constituencies concluded peacefully, recording a voter turnout of 65.65%. This turnout surpasses the Lok Sabha 2024 turnout of 64.8% in the state. Fatehabad had the highest turnout at 74.51%, while Panchkula had the lowest at 54.71%.

Exit Poll Predictions

Exit polls suggest a strong performance by the Congress, with predictions of winning more than 50 of the 90 seats. The majority mark to form the government is 46 seats. TV-Today C-voter projects Congress to win 50-58 seats, BJP 20-28, and others 10-16. People Pulse and Dainik Bhaskar surveys also predict a Congress lead.

Congress Leader’s Confidence

Congress leader Harish Rawat expressed confidence in a record win, stating, “Congress is winning the elections. I am hopeful that we will make a record win in Haryana.”

A total of 1,031 candidates contested, with 20,632 polling booths set up. Votes will be counted on October 8 for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
