New Delhi, India – The political scene in Haryana is heating up as the assembly elections approach. With just one day left for the close of nominations, major parties like Congress, AAP, and BJP have announced their candidates.

Congress Announces Candidates

On Wednesday, Congress released its third list of 40 candidates. Notable names include Aditya Surjewala, son of MP Randeep Surjewala, from Kaithal, and former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan from Panchkula. Other candidates include Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, Ram Niwas Rara from Hisar, and Pradeep Narwal from Bawani Khera. Hisar MP Jai Prakash’s son, Vikas, has been nominated from Kalayat. Late Wednesday night, Congress declared another list of five candidates, including those from Ambala Cantt and Tigaon.

AAP’s Star Campaigners

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released its fourth and fifth list of candidates on Wednesday. The party also announced its star campaigners, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Other key leaders like Delhi Ministers Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjay Singh, and Manish Sisodia are also on the list. AAP has fielded candidates like Raj Kaur Gill from Ambala Cantonment and Lalit Tyagi from Yamunanagar.

BJP’s Candidate List

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its second list of 21 candidates on Tuesday. The party has now declared 88 candidates for the 90-member assembly. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa constituency. The BJP has dropped seven sitting MLAs, including two ministers, from its list.

Other Developments

Former wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat filed her nomination papers on Wednesday. She expressed her gratitude to the people of Julana and emphasized the party’s commitment to welfare. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Haryana on September 14 to boost BJP’s campaign.

Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, with votes being counted on October 8.
