Harshit Rana Celebrates ODI Call-Up with His Dad
New Delhi, India – Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana shared a touching moment on social media, celebrating his selection to the ODI team with his father. Harshit told his dad that this achievement ‘belongs to him’.
Harshit Rana is one of the young stars chosen for India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, starting on July 27. This tour will be India’s first under new head coach Gautam Gambhir, who took over after Rahul Dravid’s contract ended following India’s ICC T20 World Cup win.
On Instagram, Harshit posted, ‘This BELONGS to you…LOVE YOU DAD,’ along with a picture of him lifting his father, Pradeep, who was wearing an Indian jersey.
Harshit was also part of the squad for the Zimbabwe tour but did not play. He had an impressive IPL season with Kolkata Knight Riders, taking 19 wickets and becoming the fourth-highest wicket-taker. He has taken 28 wickets in 25 T20Is and has shown his batting skills with a century and a fifty in first-class cricket.
India’s tour of Sri Lanka will feature two different captains: Suryakumar Yadav for T20Is and Rohit Sharma for ODIs. The T20I squad includes familiar faces from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, while the ODI squad features stalwarts like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
