India Women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has surpassed Meg Lanning to become the second leading run-scorer in Women’s T20I history. Harmanpreet, who is 35 years old, scored 66 runs against the UAE earlier in the tournament, bringing her total to 3415 T20I runs, surpassing Lanning’s 3405 runs.

Opener Smriti Mandhana is also close to overtaking Lanning. Mandhana has 3378 T20I runs and could become the third highest run-scorer in Women’s T20I history with a big score against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup semi-finals.

New Zealand veteran Suzie Bates remains the leading run-scorer in Women’s T20I cricket with 4348 runs. Bates recently added a team-best 117 runs during a five-match T20I series against England.

The Women in Blue will face Bangladesh Women in the first semi-final of the Asia Cup on Friday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The second semi-final will be played later in the evening at the same venue between Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women.
