Congress Shocked by BJP’s Caste Polarization
In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, senior Congress leader Harish Rawat expressed surprise over the Haryana assembly election results. He stated that the people of Haryana wanted Congress to win, but the BJP succeeded in polarizing voters based on caste. Rawat criticized BJP’s strategy of creating divisions among communities, saying it is their common tactic.

In the Haryana assembly elections, BJP won 48 out of 90 seats, while Congress secured 37 seats. Independents and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 3 and 2 seats, respectively.

Following a meeting with the Election Commission of India, Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda reported that the ECI promised to investigate complaints regarding the election results. The Congress delegation highlighted discrepancies with some electronic voting machines (EVMs) and requested their sealing and securing during the investigation.
