New Delhi [India], July 16: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya received a warm welcome from fans in his hometown, Vadodara, after Team India’s ICC T20 World Cup victory. This win ended India’s 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.

Hardik, who is 30 years old, attended a roadshow in Vadodara to celebrate the win. He expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “Surreal. Thank you for all the love Baroda, thank you for the support and thank you for making this such a special day. So many emotions, but always grateful.”

In the T20 World Cup, Hardik scored 144 runs in six innings with an average of 48.00 and a strike rate of 151.57. He also took 11 wickets in eight games with an average of 17.36 and an economy rate of 7.64. His best performance was scoring 50* runs and taking 3/20 wickets.

During the roadshow, many fans gathered to welcome Hardik. His brother, Krunal Pandya, was also present. Despite facing injuries and controversies, Hardik played a crucial role in India’s T20 World Cup triumph. He secured important wickets in the final match against South Africa, helping India win by seven runs.

This tournament was a redemption for Hardik, who had faced criticism during the IPL 2024 after taking over the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians from Rohit Sharma. He was also trolled online after an ankle injury in the 50-over World Cup last year.

India’s victory in the T20 World Cup was marked by stellar performances from Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah. Virat’s 76 runs helped India reach 176/7 in 20 overs, while Bumrah and Pandya’s bowling restricted South Africa to 169/8, securing the win.
