Hardeep Singh Bawa Meets CM Sukhu After Winning Nalagarh Seat
Hardeep Singh Bawa, the newly elected MLA from Nalagarh assembly constituency, met with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla on Friday. The Chief Minister congratulated Bawa on his election and emphasized the state government’s commitment to accelerating development in Nalagarh.
CM Sukhu assured that efforts would be made to enhance the quality of life for Nalagarh residents by addressing their key concerns and needs. Bawa attributed the Congress party’s success to the effective policies and programs implemented by the state government under Sukhu’s leadership.
Bawa thanked the Chief Minister for his support during the campaign, which he believes was crucial for his victory. He also mentioned that the electorate’s support was a clear endorsement of good governance and a rejection of political maneuvers like horse trading.
In a boost for the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, the party won two of the three bypoll seats, including Dehra and Nalagarh, while the BJP won the Hamirpur seat. The by-elections were held due to the resignation of three independent MLAs who later joined the BJP.
Chief Minister Sukhu’s wife, Kamlesh Thakur, won the Dehra seat, marking the first time the Congress has won this seat since its creation in 2012. Kamlesh Thakur won by a margin of 9,399 votes, securing 32,737 votes against the BJP’s Hoshiyar Singh, who received 23,338 votes.
