Harbhajan Singh Warns Team India About Australia in Women’s T20 World Cup
The Women’s T20 World Cup has kicked off in Abu Dhabi, with Bangladesh securing a stylish win against Scotland in the opening match. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has shared his insights on Team India’s group stage opponents, emphasizing the need to be cautious against Australia. Speaking to Star Sports, Harbhajan stated, “I think India needs to be very careful when playing against Australia. Looking at this group, India has Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. All these matches will definitely be important. But one match that I think will be a little tough is the India-Australia match.”
Harbhajan highlighted Australia’s strength, noting that despite playing on subcontinent pitches in Dubai, which may not suit them as well as their home conditions, Australia remains a formidable opponent. He also mentioned Sri Lanka’s recent series win against India, suggesting it will be a competitive match.
India has faced challenges against Australia in past T20 World Cups. In 2020, India reached their first-ever T20 World Cup final but fell short against Australia. In the 2022 edition, India made it to the semi-finals, only to be stopped by Australia once again.
