England seamer Gus Atkinson has been honored as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2024. This recognition comes after his remarkable performance in the Test series against West Indies.

Outstanding Debut

Atkinson made a sensational Test debut in July, during James Anderson’s farewell international match. He took 12 wickets in his first game, including a five-wicket haul in each innings. His figures of 7/45 in the first innings helped England secure an innings win by 114 runs.

Continued Success

Atkinson continued to impress throughout the series, taking 10 more wickets in the remaining two Tests. He also contributed with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 21 in the second Test at Nottingham and another 21 in the final match. He finished as the series’ leading wicket-taker with 22 dismissals and was named Player of the Series.
