Purpose of Gunotsav

Gunotsav is an initiative by the Assam government to improve the quality of school education. It evaluates four core areas: scholastic (learning outcomes of children), co-scholastic, infrastructure, and community participation. Schools are graded from A+ to D based on their performance, with 90% weightage on scholastic, and 5% each on co-scholastic, infrastructure, and community participation.

This exercise helps identify learning gaps and ensures that all children take appropriate remedial measures to achieve grade-specific learning outcomes.
