Gujarat’s Garvi Gurjari Handicrafts Brand Gets Trademark Certification
The Gujarat Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has achieved a significant milestone in the field of handicrafts. The Government of India has granted a trademark certificate to the Gujarat State Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (GSHHDC) for its brand ‘Garvi Gurjari’.
Lalit Narayan Singh Sandu, Managing Director of GSHHDC, highlighted that both the Central Government, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Gujarat Government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, have consistently promoted Gujarat’s traditional art and craft. As a result, the Garvi Gurjari brand has now achieved a trademark certificate from the Government of India.
A trademark certificate provides legal brand recognition and protection, allowing the corporation to prevent unauthorized use of its brand name or logo. This legal security strengthens the corporation’s market presence and reputation, enabling swift action against any brand infringement.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel congratulated GSHHDC on social media, stating that the trademark certification will guarantee legal protection for the beautiful handloom and handicrafts creations of Gujarati artisans marketed through Garvi Gurjari. He emphasized that this milestone will open new doors for franchising and licensing, boosting customer confidence and leading to higher economic benefits for local artisans.
By securing its brand with a recognized trademark, Garvi Gurjari has gained a competitive edge. The trademark acts as a safeguard, protecting the rich cultural heritage of Garvi Gurjari from unauthorized use or misrepresentation. It ensures that consumers can trust the quality and authenticity of Garvi Gurjari products.
The trademark certification is a strategic milestone for GSHHDC, playing a pivotal role in safeguarding Gujarat’s vibrant handloom and handicraft heritage and ensuring employment opportunities for craftsmen and artisans.
