Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel Visits Flood-Affected Areas Amid Heavy Rainfall

Amid heavy rainfall in Gujarat, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel visited the flood-affected Borsad area in Anand District. He inspected the area on a tractor and highlighted efforts to prevent water-borne diseases.

Heavy rains have caused severe disruptions across Gujarat, leading to flood-like situations in various districts. Eight people have recently died due to the deluge, bringing the total death toll to 61.

Relief Commissioner Alok Pandey reported ongoing rescue operations in Dwarka and Surat, with efforts to assist affected residents. He mentioned that continuous instructions are being received from the Chief Minister regarding the heavy rainfall. A red alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in South Gujarat based on the forecast from the IMD.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted an aerial survey of villages in the coastal districts of Saurashtra, especially Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka, to assess the situation. In a review meeting, he guided the district administration to work with a zero-casualty approach to ensure people’s safety during heavy rains.

Due to heavy rains in the coastal districts of Saurashtra, including Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, and Porbandar, waterlogging in low-lying areas has affected normal life. The Chief Minister inspected the situation in the coastal belt and affected areas of Devbhoomi Dwarka.
