Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], September 29: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised the ‘Laghu Udyog Bharati’ for its significant contribution to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. Speaking at a meeting in Vadodara, he highlighted the organization’s role in increasing production and employment.

India’s Economic Growth

Patel noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has become the fifth-largest economic power globally. He credited initiatives like ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Make in India’ for making the country self-reliant and the largest manufacturer of mobile phones.

Role of ‘Laghu Udyog Bharati’

‘Laghu Udyog Bharati’ is an all-India organization for Micro and Small Industries, established in 1994. It operates in over 575 districts across 27 states with more than 51,000 members. Patel emphasized the importance of innovation and technology in benefiting small industries and moving towards ‘Make for the World.’

MSMEs: The Backbone of Development

Patel described MSMEs as the backbone of the country’s development, noting their momentum due to increased investment in Gujarat. He urged the organization to communicate state government policies to the public.

Prime Minister’s Remarks

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, stated that MSMEs have greatly benefited from the ‘Make in India’ campaign. He expressed joy in seeing various sectors like automobiles, textiles, aviation, electronics, and defense thriving, attributing this success to the country’s youth and rising Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
