A crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Government’s Science and Technology Department and Jabil, a global leader in engineering and manufacturing.

The MoU outlines an investment of Rs1,000 crore in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). This partnership will focus on sectors like networking, capital goods, and automotive industries. The MoU was signed by B N Shukla from Jabil and Manish Gurvan from the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM). The exchange was formalized by Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary of the Science and Technology Department, and Frederic McCoy, Executive Vice President at Jabil.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the MoU’s role in strengthening Gujarat’s technology ecosystem, aligning with the Prime Minister’s Make in India initiative. Jabil’s expansion in India will create unique opportunities for technology companies and bolster the ecosystem in Dholera.

The Dholera SIR is equipped with industry-ready infrastructure and efficient logistics, supporting high-tech manufacturing. Technology leaders like Micron and Tata Electronics have already established operations in Gujarat, with Tata Electronics setting up India’s first commercial semiconductor fab at Dholera.
