Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Launches 7th National Nutrition Month 2024
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 7th National Nutrition Month-2024 in Gandhinagar on Saturday. He highlighted that the National Nutrition Campaign is a new approach to improving maternal and child health.
Prime Minister’s Vision
The campaign supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of India@2047 with the goal of ‘Sahi Poshan-Desh Roshan’. Launched in 2018, the campaign focuses on the nutritional status of pregnant women, expectant mothers, adolescent girls, and children up to 6 years old.
Event Highlights
The event was attended by Union Minister of Women and Child Welfare Annapurna Devi and Gujarat’s Minister of Women and Child Welfare Bhanubhan Babria. They distributed food drops to orphans, affordable food kits to pregnant and lactating mothers, and assistance checks to beneficiaries.
New Policies
The Chief Minister also launched the Nari Gaurav Niti-2024 policy, aiming to improve nutrition, health, and education for mothers and children in Gujarat. The state provides pasteurized fortified flavored milk to over 13 lakh children under the Dudh Sanjeev scheme, especially benefiting children from tribal areas.
