Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Inaugurates City Civic Centers and Approves Rainwater Harvesting Projects
On Saturday, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited Balasinor in Mahisagar district to inaugurate 32 City Civic Centers. These centers aim to provide easy access to municipal services for citizens, acting as ‘One Stop Shops’ for various online facilities. The initiative is part of the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, with the first phase starting in 22 municipalities and the second phase approved for 66 more municipalities in 2023-24. The total cost for these centers is estimated at Rs 93.76 crore.
During the visit, the Chief Minister unveiled a plaque, inspected the new facilities, and distributed forms and certificates to applicants. The centers offer services like property tax, hall booking, marriage registration, and more. The second phase includes centers in municipalities such as Patdi, Kapadvanj, Botad, and many others.
Additionally, on Friday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel approved Rs 144.32 crore for over 7,000 rainwater harvesting projects in Ahmedabad’s Northwest, Southwest, and West zones. These projects will be planned through the Private Society Public Participation Scheme, with a funding ratio of 70:20:10. The initiative aims to collect rainwater and raise the groundwater level, benefiting residential societies and multi-storied buildings.
