Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Approves Rs 1,470 Crore for Road Upgrades

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], July 17: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given the green light for a Rs 1,470 crore project to upgrade and strengthen roads connecting industrial and quarry areas in Gujarat. This project will cover 688 km of roads and aims to improve road infrastructure, ease traffic, and support industrial growth.

The initiative includes widening 83 km of roads to four lanes, expanding 173 km to 10 meters, and upgrading 432 km of roads. Additionally, bridges and cross-drainage structures will be improved, and flyovers will be built as needed.

Gujarat is a leading state in industrial development, thanks to its policy-driven approach and robust infrastructure. The state has the highest share of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India, largely due to the Vibrant Global Summit initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This road project aligns with PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ visions, aiming to enhance the ease of doing business by facilitating the movement of raw materials and finished products. The Chief Minister has directed the Road and Building Department to ensure that road development meets the current and future needs of villages, towns, and cities in industrial and quarry areas.

By improving road infrastructure, Gujarat aims to attract more industries and contribute significantly to PM Modi’s vision of a developed India, or ‘Viksit Bharat,’ as it strives to become ‘Viksit Gujarat.’
