Gujarat Celebrates 147th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra with Technology and Tradition

As the annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra began in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi extended his best wishes to the public. The 147th Rath Yatra saw lakhs of people arriving to witness the event. Sanghavi highlighted the role of technology in improving traffic conditions.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel initiated the yatra, and Union Minister Amit Shah performed the ‘Mangla Arti’ at Jagannath Temple. Patel also performed the ‘Pahind Vidhi,’ symbolically cleaning the path for the chariot.

More than 15,000 police personnel were deployed, and technology like CCTV and drones were used to ensure smooth proceedings. JCP Ahmedabad Police Neeraj Badgujar confirmed that rehearsals and extensive arrangements were made for the event.
