Greg Shipperd Backs Josh Inglis for Australia’s Test Team

In New Delhi, Greg Shipperd, a respected mentor and coach of New South Wales, has suggested Josh Inglis as a potential replacement for David Warner in Australia’s Test cricket team. This comes ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against India. With Steven Smith moving back to the middle order, a spot has opened up alongside Usman Khawaja.

Shipperd believes Inglis, a 29-year-old right-handed batsman, could be a strong candidate for the opening slot in the Test match against India in Perth on November 22. Despite the possibility of young Sam Konstas missing his Test debut, Shipperd supports Inglis due to his impressive performances and playing style similar to Warner.

Inglis has played 49 international matches for Australia in ODI and T20I formats but is yet to debut in Test cricket. He has been an understudy to Alex Carey in the Test format. Sam Whiteman, Inglis’ state captain from Western Australia, also supports his inclusion, citing Inglis’ excellent form and versatility in transitioning between white and red ball cricket.
