As the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest concludes, the chess world is eagerly awaiting the second season of the Global Chess League, set to take place from October 3 to October 12 in London.
Jan-Krzysztof Duda Joins American Gambits
Grandmaster Jan-Krzysztof Duda will be playing for the debutant team American Gambits. He shared his excitement about the tournament, saying, “The Global Chess League is the only chess event where team owners can draft players. It makes me feel like an NBA player for a while.”
Duda, the 2021 FIDE World Cup winner, will team up with top Grandmasters like Hikaru Nakamura and Bibisara Assaubayeva. He believes the league is an excellent opportunity to promote chess and develop his skills.
