Grand Bibah Panchami Celebration in Janakpur
Champat Rai Amongst the Five Lakh Barati
Janakpur, a sacred city in Nepal, is preparing for a grand celebration of Bibah Panchami. Champat Rai, the Chief of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, will be among the five lakh ‘Barati’ attending the event. Ram Roshan Das, the Uttaradhikari Mahant of Janaki Temple, shared that over 500 dignitaries, including saints from South India, will join the festivities.
Special Tilakotsav Ceremony
This year marks a special occasion with the introduction of a Tilakotsav ceremony before the Bibah Utsav. For the first time, 251 tilak-hars from Janakpur will travel to Ayodhya with 501 types of offerings, including clothing, jewelry, and sweets. The ceremony will take place on November 18.
Preparations and Celebrations
The Brihattar Janakpur Bikash Parishad has begun preparations to welcome around 600 special guests from India. The event, celebrated every five years, commemorates the marriage of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, as per ancient scriptures. Locals are encouraged to light fifty oil-fed lamps for five days to beautify the city and strengthen ties with Ayodhya.
