On October 12, Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik joined the virtual e-inauguration of 75 projects by the Border Roads Organization (BRO), led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The event took place from Raj Bhavan, Itanagar. The projects include three road projects, fourteen bridge projects, and a helipad in Arunachal Pradesh.

Key Projects and Strategic Importance

One significant project is the Kupup-Sherathang Road in Sikkim, linking Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg and Zuluk axis. Governor Parnaik highlighted the strategic importance of these infrastructures for national security, communication, and tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.

Governor Parnaik expressed gratitude to the Central Government for these vital projects, emphasizing their role in socio-economic development, especially in border areas. He mentioned the support for the Vibrant Border Village programme and the ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ initiative, which brings state services to people’s doorsteps.

Defence Minister’s Commendation

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the BRO’s dedication in completing the projects despite challenging conditions. He assured further development of border infrastructure, aiming to make India one of the safest and strongest nations.
