The Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, inaugurated a two-day conference for Vice Chancellors on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh. In his speech, Kataria emphasized the need for an educational framework that balances India’s cultural heritage with modern skills. He praised Punjab’s education system and encouraged the integration of talent recognition, language inclusivity, and rigorous teacher selection.

Prof Ved Prakash and Prof Ganesan Kannabiran spoke on internationalization and advancements in accreditation, respectively. Dr Avichal Kapoor outlined NEP 2020’s student-centered approach.
The conference aimed to foster collaboration on NEP 2020’s potential to enhance Punjab’s education sector. A round-table discussion followed, where Vice Chancellors and Directors shared insights on implementing NEP and highlighted their institutions’ achievements.
