New Delhi, India – Following the tragic rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has taken significant steps to improve security in central government healthcare facilities.

Security Measures to Be Enhanced

The Ministry has written to the heads of Central Government hospitals, including AIIMS and other institutes, urging them to enhance security measures. • Installation of high-resolution CCTV cameras at strategic locations.
  • Setting up control rooms with admin staff and security personnel for quick response.
  • Employment of well-trained security guards for monitoring and patrolling.
