Google Adds Gemini AI to Messages App for Better Chat Experience
Google has started updating its Messages app with a new feature called Gemini AI. This update aims to make chatting more fun and useful by letting users interact with artificial intelligence directly within their conversations.
How It Works
Users will see a new floating action button above the ‘Start chat’ button in the lower-right corner of the app. This button makes it easy to access the AI service. With Gemini AI, users can ask questions, get information, or give commands without leaving their chat.
Privacy and Security
Gemini AI respects user privacy by not scanning private conversations. However, it’s important to know that interactions with the AI are not end-to-end encrypted, so users should be careful when sharing sensitive information.
Managing Chat History
Google allows users to manage their chat history with Gemini AI. They can choose to keep their chat history for 3 months, 18 months, or up to 36 months.
Location Tracking
Gemini AI does not track user locations beyond general details from IP addresses or home addresses to provide relevant information.
As the update continues to roll out, users can look forward to a more enhanced and streamlined chat experience within the Messages app.
