Ghulam Nabi Azad Votes in Jammu and Kashmir’s Final Election Phase
Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chief Ghulam Nabi Azad cast his vote at the Government Girls High School in Jammu for the third and final phase of the state election on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Azad urged people to vote wisely and choose their leaders carefully. He emphasized the importance of making informed decisions and encouraged all eligible voters to participate in the election.
The third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections began at 7 AM today, covering 40 constituencies—24 in the Jammu division and the rest in the Kashmir Valley. According to the Election Commission, over 3.9 million voters in seven districts are eligible to vote in this phase. Voting will continue until 6 PM, with security measures in place to ensure a smooth process.
At least 415 candidates are contesting in this phase, including former deputy chief ministers Tara Chand (Congress) and Muzaffar Hussain Beig. Mock polling has started in various polling booths.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Vikram Randhawa from the Bahu assembly constituency offered prayers at the Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Mandir ahead of the elections. His main opponents are Congress’ Taranjit Singh Tony and PDP’s Varinder Singh.
