In New Delhi, German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, has made a significant switch to an Electric Vehicle (EV) to promote sustainability. To celebrate this change, he participated in Indian customs by smashing a coconut and tying ‘nimbu-mirchi’ (lemon and chili) to his new car, a ritual believed to ward off evil spirits. Ackermann emphasized the importance of reducing pollution, especially during Delhi’s winter months, and expressed his commitment to sustainable development through the partnership between Germany and India.

Earlier, on October 12, Ackermann shared his enthusiasm for the launch of the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI) in Delhi. He highlighted FEBI’s role in enhancing the free trade agreement negotiations between India and Europe. Ackermann described FEBI as a vital network comprising over a hundred European companies, which will play a significant role in the Indian business ecosystem and the ongoing FTA discussions.
