The ruling Georgian Dream Party has announced its victory in the recent elections, securing 53% of the electronic votes with 90% of the votes counted so far. Four main opposition parties, including the United National Movement and Strong Georgia, have accused the ruling party of voter manipulation and fraud. They also claim that the Georgian Dream Party is moving the country away from the European Union towards Russia. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze denied these allegations, emphasizing the party’s commitment to European integration.

Before the elections, the Georgian Dream Party promised constitutional changes and a ban on opposition parties if they secured 75% of parliamentary seats.
