George Munsey’s Historic Century Leads Harare Bolts to Victory in Zim Afro T10

Harare, Zimbabwe – George Munsey made history at the Harare Sports Club on Day 6 of the second season of the Zim Afro T10 by scoring the first century ever in the competition. His incredible 38-ball 100 helped the Harare Bolts set a record total and knock out the Durban Wolves.

Harare Bolts vs. Durban Wolves

The Harare Bolts batted first and started strong with contributions from Lahiru Milantha (13) and Janishka Perera (24). Munsey then took charge, hitting 10 sixes and six boundaries to remain unbeaten. The Bolts posted a record 173/2 in 10 overs. In response, the Wolves started well with Sharjeel Khan (25) and Will Smeed (16), but the Bolts’ bowlers tightened their grip. Richard Gleeson was the standout bowler with figures of 2/2, leading the Bolts to a 54-run win.

Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers vs. Bulawayo Brave Jaguars

In the second game, the Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers’ top order shone brightly. Hazratullah Zazai (49*) and captain Sikandar Raza (51*) put together an unbeaten 108-run stand, taking the score to 128/2. The Jaguars, led by David Warner, struggled to build momentum. Tinashe Muchawaya dismissed Warner, and George Linde took three wickets, restricting the Jaguars to 91/9 in 10 overs. The Tigers won by 37 runs.

NYS Lagos vs. Cape Town Samp Army

In the final game, NYS Lagos openers Rassie van der Dussen (51) and Avishka Fernando (66) put on a brilliant 122-run partnership, leading to a total of 133/2 in 10 overs. The Cape Town Samp Army started well with Brian Bennett (40) and Jack Taylor (37), but Oshane Thomas bowled effectively to restrict them. NYS Lagos won by 42 runs and secured qualification for the next round.
