George Munsey Scores First Century in Zim Afro T10 History
Scotland’s George Munsey has been in fantastic form in the second season of the Zim Afro T10 tournament. Munsey, playing for the Harare Bolts, made history by scoring the first century in the tournament’s history. He achieved an unbeaten 100 off just 38 balls, hitting ten sixes and six fours at a strike rate of 263.16 against the Durban Wolves.
Munsey’s century came on the sixth day of the tournament, held at the beautiful Harare Sports Club. His remarkable performance helped the Harare Bolts set a new record with a total of 173/2 in 10 overs, the highest ever in the Zim Afro T10.
Throughout the tournament, Munsey has been one of the standout players. He started with an unbeaten 33 from 13 balls against the Cape Town Samp Army, followed by 37 from 18 balls against the Durban Wolves, 10 from 5 balls against the Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers, 1 run against the Bulawayo Brave Jaguars, and 13 from 7 balls against the NYS Lagos before his historic century.
Munsey’s brilliant century not only set the tone for Day 6 but also led his team to a massive 54-run victory over the Durban Wolves. The 31-year-old top-order batter has been one of the best performers in the Zim Afro T10 and has a successful T20 career with four centuries in less than 160 games.
