George Kurian Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh
Union Minister George Kurian, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election from Madhya Pradesh. The event took place at the state’s Legislative Assembly in Bhopal on Wednesday.
Kurian was accompanied by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and BJP state chief VD Sharma. After filing his nomination, Kurian expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central BJP leadership, CM Mohan Yadav, and state BJP chief VD Sharma for nominating him. He promised to serve the people of Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yadav welcomed Kurian, calling him a popular leader from Kerala and expressing gratitude to party chief JP Nadda and PM Modi. Yadav highlighted that with Kurian’s nomination, Madhya Pradesh will have seven ministers in the Modi 3.0 cabinet, which he believes will help the state progress.
Currently, the six union ministers from Madhya Pradesh in the Modi 3.0 cabinet are Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Virendra Kumar, Durgadas Uikey, Savitri Thakur, and L Murugan. Kurian’s election would increase this number to seven.
