General Anil Chauhan and Rajnath Singh to Speak at Joint Commanders’ Conference in Lucknow

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan will deliver the opening address at the Joint Commanders’ Conference, which will be held at Headquarters, Central Command in Lucknow on September 4 and 5. The theme of the conference is ‘Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat: Transforming the Armed Forces.’

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will review the defence preparedness and address the apex-level military leadership on September 5.

A Defence Ministry release said that the conference will consider the current volatility in regional and global environments to deduce plausible operational and employment scenarios. It will also undertake threat and resource matching to develop a robust concept for future wars.

The conference will provide an opportunity for the commanders to review modernisation plans of the armed forces and discuss ways to improve the nation’s defence capability through jointness and enhanced synergy among the three Services.

Lucknow is also the parliamentary constituency of the Defence Minister.
