Haryana Assembly Elections: Candidates Express Confidence
As the counting for the Haryana Assembly elections began, Geeta Bhukkal, a Congress candidate from Jhajjar, expressed her optimism about winning a significant majority. She stated, “The support from the people of Jhajjar gives me hope for a thumping victory. Congress will form the government in Haryana.” Bhukkal also mentioned that while exit polls favor Congress, she believes the actual results will surpass expectations.
Aditya Surjewala, another Congress candidate from Kaithal, shared similar confidence, predicting that Congress would secure around 60 seats, reducing BJP to 15. He emphasized that Congress’s promises have resonated with the people, contrasting with the inflation issues under BJP’s governance.
On the other hand, Union Minister Chirag Paswan expressed hope for a BJP victory, citing the party’s efforts in Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana. BJP leader Om Prakash Dhankar also anticipated favorable results for BJP, noting that while exit polls can be inaccurate, the final results would reveal the truth.
The elections for the 90 constituencies in Haryana were conducted on October 5, following the J-K assembly elections held in three phases in September and October.
