The Indian cricket team has started their preparations for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka in Pallekele under their new head coach, Gautam Gambhir. The team hit the nets for the first time under Gambhir’s guidance, performing various drills while he observed with a smile.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Gambhir was seen discussing game tactics with Sanju Samson. The Indian team arrived in Pallekele on Monday after a press conference in Mumbai with chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The 15-member squad and support staff traveled from Mumbai to Sri Lanka on Monday night.

The series will feature three T20I matches on July 27, 28, and 30, followed by a three-match ODI series starting on August 1. The T20I matches will be held at the Pallekele International Stadium, while the ODI matches will take place at the R Premadasa Stadium.

India’s last tour of Sri Lanka for a bilateral white-ball series was in July 2021, where they won the ODI series 2-1 but lost the T20I series by the same margin.
