Gary Neville to Inspire Young Footballers at ‘United We Play’ Finale in Chandigarh

Former Manchester United star Gary Neville is set to visit India to support a grassroots football program and inspire young players. Known as one of the best right-backs in football history, Neville’s career highlights include eight English Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League titles with Manchester United. He will attend the grand finale of the fourth edition of ‘United We Play’ in Chandigarh on October 18, 2024.

Gary Neville’s Football Legacy

Gary Neville spent his entire career at Manchester United, making 602 appearances over nearly 20 years. He also represented England 85 times over a 12-year international career. His visit to India is part of the ‘United We Play’ initiative, which aims to nurture young football talent by providing a platform for them to showcase their skills and learn global training methods.

United We Play Initiative

The ‘United We Play’ program, supported by Manchester United, was launched in Kolkata last December by former player Louis Saha. The fourth edition is the largest yet, reaching 18 cities across India and involving over 15,000 young footballers. More than 100 coaches participated in virtual training sessions to ensure comprehensive skill development. The initiative has also expanded to cities in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, including Kathmandu, Bangkok, Dhaka, and Dubai.
