Gangster Chota Shakeel’s Brother-in-Law Arif Shaikh Dies in Mumbai Hospital
Arif Shaikh, also known as Arif Bhaijaan, brother-in-law of gangster Chota Shakeel, died of a heart attack at JJ Hospital in Mumbai. Arif was an accused in a terror funding case linked to Dawood Ibrahim and had been in Arthur Road jail. He was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed charges against Dawood Ibrahim, Chota Shakeel, and others for running a global terrorist network and organized crime syndicate, D-Company. The chargesheet named Dawood Ibrahim, Chota Shakeel, Arif Abubakar Shaikh, Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh, and Mohammad Salim Qureshi. The NIA’s investigation revealed that the accused were involved in various unlawful activities and possessed ‘proceeds of terrorism’.
