Gagangir Terror Attack: A Family’s Grief and Call for Justice

In Jammu and Kashmir, a tragic terror attack in Gagangir claimed the lives of seven people, including Shashi Bhushan Abrol. Abrol’s brother expressed his grief and anger, stating that the terrorists responsible should be punished. Abrol, a designer and the sole breadwinner for his family, leaves behind two children. His father recounted a last conversation with Abrol’s wife before he stopped responding to calls.

The attack occurred at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh highway, targeting laborers and staff returning to their camp. Among the victims was a doctor, whose family and friends gathered in Budgam to mourn.

Condemnation and Investigation

Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference, condemned the attack, blaming Pakistan and urging an end to terrorism. He emphasized the need for peace and dignity, questioning the motives behind such violence.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is sending a team, led by a senior officer, to investigate the attack. The team is expected to arrive at the site by noon to begin their inquiry.
