G Kishan Reddy Criticizes Revanth Reddy Over Musi Riverfront Project

Union Minister of Coal and Mines and Telangana-BJP Chief, G Kishan Reddy, has voiced strong opposition to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s approach to the Musi riverfront beautification project. During a press conference, Reddy criticized the plan as unfair to the poor, highlighting that it involves demolishing homes that have existed for decades.

Concerns Over Demolitions

Reddy emphasized that the BJP stands against the demolition of homes belonging to the poor and has formally requested the Chief Minister to halt these actions. He pointed out that 70% of drainage water flows into the Musi River and urged the government to address drainage issues before proceeding with beautification efforts.

Criticism of Government Actions

Reddy questioned the rationale behind demolishing houses built many years ago and criticized the government’s handling of drainage and drinking water issues in Hyderabad. He warned that continued demolitions could lead to the government’s downfall.

Political Accusations

Reddy accused the Congress government in Karnataka of failing to fulfill promises and suggested that Telangana might face similar issues. He also alleged that ‘RG and RR tax’ is being collected in the state, questioning the whereabouts of Rahul Gandhi.

Support for Affected Families

Reddy met with families affected by the project, noting that their homes are 30-40 years old and were built through hard work. He urged Revanth Reddy to focus on constructing houses rather than demolishing them, offering Central government support.

Reddy warned that the BJP would resist any attempts to demolish homes and is prepared to take strong action, including going to jail if necessary.
