French President Macron Awaits New Government After Election Results

French President Emmanuel Macron is waiting to make decisions about a new government following the second round of parliamentary elections. The Elysee Palace stated that Macron will ensure the French people’s choice is respected and will wait for the new National Assembly to form before making decisions.

The New Popular Front (NFP) emerged as a leading force but did not secure a majority, reflecting political volatility in France. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced his resignation. National Rally (RN) leader Jordan Bardella criticized Macron for causing instability and expressed disappointment at the election results.

Socialist leader Olivier Faure pledged to follow the NFP’s agenda, including repealing Macron’s pension reforms. Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of La France Insoumise (LFI) and a prominent NFP figure, celebrated the civic mobilization of the French people, calling it a victory for the majority.

In Paris, the announcement of the NFP’s success sparked celebrations among supporters, with people taking to the streets and expressing relief.
