The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Cooks from Bethel Park, fired from a rooftop, grazing Trump’s ear. Secret Service agents neutralized Cooks, who was later identified as a 20-year-old from Bethel Park. One spectator was killed, and another critically injured. Trump was escorted off the stage and is recovering.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and US President Joe Biden condemned the violence, emphasizing unity and respect. Shapiro expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their swift response and assured that investigations are ongoing. Biden described the attack as ‘sick’ and stressed the need for national unity to prevent such incidents.

US Vice President also shared her relief that Trump was not seriously injured and thanked the Secret Service and first responders for their immediate action. She called for universal condemnation of the violence to ensure it does not lead to more incidents.
