Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 23: Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has criticized Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his recent comments on the Sikh community and reservation in India during his visit to the United States. Krishnam demanded an apology from Gandhi, accusing him of insulting the country on foreign soil.

Krishnam stated, “Rahul Gandhi tells a lot of lies, he lies to the people of the country, to his party members, to women, and to farmers too, he even lies to the depressed and impoverished classes.” He added that Gandhi should understand his role as a national politician and not insult the country abroad.

The ruling BJP also criticized Gandhi for his remarks. BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused Gandhi of supporting “anti-Indians” and creating new records in lying. Thakur mentioned that Gandhi’s comments on Sikhs were disrespectful and highlighted that the Modi government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to provide justice to the victims of past injustices against Sikhs.

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya alleged that Gandhi’s overseas engagements have consistently harmed India’s image. Malviya claimed that Gandhi indulges in divisive anti-India politics and collaborates with forces against India’s interests.

In response, Rahul Gandhi defended his remarks, stating that he always speaks up for the values that define India. He accused the BJP of lying and attempting to silence him. Gandhi asked, “Is there anything wrong with what I have said? Shouldn’t India be a country where every Sikh–and every Indian–can freely practice their religion without fear?” He emphasized the importance of unity in diversity, equality, and love.
