Former BJP MLA Brahm Singh Tanwar Joins AAP

In a significant political move, Brahm Singh Tanwar, a former BJP leader and three-time MLA, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi. The announcement was made in the presence of AAP’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal.

Tanwar’s Political Journey

Tanwar has represented the Mehrauli constituency twice and Chattarpur once in the Delhi Assembly. He expressed his admiration for Kejriwal’s leadership and the developmental work done by the AAP government in Delhi as his reasons for joining the party.

Statements from Tanwar and Kejriwal

Tanwar stated, “I joined AAP after seeing Arvind Kejriwal’s capability and the developmental works done by the AAP government in Delhi. I will work for the development of the people along with Kejriwal.” He also mentioned that more of his supporters are expected to join AAP soon.

Kejriwal welcomed Tanwar, highlighting his contributions to Delhi’s development over the past 50 years. “Today is a very happy day for AAP. Brahm Singh Tanwar ji is a big leader in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

AAP’s Growing Influence

Kejriwal noted that despite AAP’s relatively short existence of 10 to 12 years, the party’s ideology and developmental achievements in Delhi and Punjab are attracting more people. He also mentioned plans to campaign for INDIA bloc candidates in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

Recent Developments

Arvind Kejriwal, who was previously arrested in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, was released from Tihar Jail last month after being granted bail by the Supreme Court.
