Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 22: Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of targeting leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and damaging their properties. Reddy claims that despite complaints, the police have not taken any action.

Reddy alleged that the TDP is trying to weaken the YSRCP by using private individuals to attack its leaders and damage their properties, sometimes without even serving notices. He warned that these actions will backfire on the TDP in the future.

These comments follow recent attacks on YSRCP leaders and damage to their properties across the state. In one incident, a rice mill belonging to YSRCP leader Ranga Reddy was set on fire in Kudur village, causing a loss of Rs 50 lakh. Despite complaints, no action has been taken against the culprits.

Additionally, the TDP has accused former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of illegally allotting two acres of irrigation land in Amaravathi for a YSRCP party office. The TDP claims that Jagan planned to occupy an additional 15 acres by building on these two acres. However, the Irrigation Department has not given clearance for this land transfer.

The TDP further stated that the YSRCP did not apply for the necessary clearances and began construction illegally. The general secretary of the Guntur district unit of the TDP has lodged a complaint, leading to the demolition of these illegal constructions under the supervision of MTMC officials.
