Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 21: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Governor S Abdul Nazeer at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada on Sunday. He expressed concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and requested an investigation by central government agencies into the alleged atrocities by the TDP government.

Allegations Against TDP Government

Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that constitutional institutions have failed, and the administration is paralyzed. He accused the TDP-led coalition government of targeting YSRCP supporters, terrorizing them through humiliation, beatings, and even killings. He mentioned that properties, including residential houses and government establishments, have been destroyed.

Specific Incidents

Reddy highlighted several incidents, including the brutal hacking to death of YSRCP activist Rashid in Vinukonda on July 17, 2024, and an attempted murder on MP PV Midhun Reddy in Punganur, Chittoor district. He criticized the police for their apathy and alleged that TDP goons are emboldened by this attitude.

Statistics of Violence

According to Reddy, in just one month of the new government, 36 people have been murdered, 300 murder attempts have been made, 35 people have committed suicide due to TDP harassment, 560 private properties have been destroyed, 490 government properties have been vandalized, and nearly 2,700 families have left their villages. He also mentioned over 1,050 incidents of violence and attacks.
