Forest Department Uses Drones to Track Wolves in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh
In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, the Forest Department is using drones to monitor the areas in Mahsi Tepra village amid a wolf scare. Sanjay Pathak, General Manager of the Forest Department, stated that efforts are underway with drones and cages set up in potential areas. Four out of six wolves have been captured, while two remain at large.
Residents of Kulaila village are patrolling with sticks for safety. Police held a meeting in Purva village to discuss protection measures. Uday Pratap, a resident, mentioned that police advised staying indoors or on rooftops and moving in groups if necessary. Deshraj, another resident, expressed concerns about the prolonged situation affecting their health.
So far, 34 people have been injured in the alleged wolf attacks, with two referred to the District Hospital in Bahraich and reported to be stable. Dr. Ashish Verma from the Mahasi Community Health Centre confirmed the injuries and treatments. The search for the remaining wolves continues under ‘Operation Bhediya’.
