Floods in Assam: Brahmaputra River Overflows into Kaziranga National Park

Heavy rains have caused the Brahmaputra River to flood, affecting Kaziranga National Park in Assam. According to Sonali Ghosh, Field Director of Kaziranga National Park, 61 out of 233 camps in the park are submerged. The affected camps include:

Measures are being taken to protect wildlife, including the installation of speed sensors on National Highway 37. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the flood situation in Dibrugarh and directed officials to take immediate measures. The death toll has risen to 34, with over 2.62 lakh people affected in 12 districts.
