Five Soldiers Killed in Kathua Terror Attack
In a tragic incident on July 8, five army soldiers lost their lives in a terror attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. The post-mortem of the soldiers was conducted at the Sub District Hospital Billawar.
Details of the Incident
The Indian Army airlifted the bodies of the soldiers who were killed in the attack on their convoy in the Machedi area of Kathua district. Billawar Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Khosla, reported that eight injured soldiers were brought to Billawar Hospital. Six of them were later shifted to Pathankot Hospital for further treatment.
Security Measures
Following the attack, security has been tightened along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu and Kashmir police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
Government Response
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting on the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. He directed all security agencies to work in a mission mode and ensure a quick and coordinated response to such incidents.
